PECAN PIE

The Very Best

This is always a favorite on the holiday table, especially
with real vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top!

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup white Karo syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon plain flour
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla flavoring
1 tablespoon butter, melted (real butter)
1 1/4 cups pecans, chopped
1 unbaked 9" pastry shell

Mix sugar and flour. Beat together eggs and Karo syrup, then add sugar, flour and salt. Stir in vanilla flavoring and melted butter, then blend in chopped pecans.

Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in slow oven at 300 degrees for about 1 hour, or until filling is just set. To brown crust, before baking brush edges with a little evaporated milk.
